Building a Culture of Reading, Learning, and Opportunity

About the Program

The Community Library Program is a our flagship education initiative  aimed at improving literacy, academic performance, and access to information for vulnerable children and youth in Njiru Ward, Kasarani Sub-County.

Many learners in marginalized urban communities lack access to books, quiet study spaces, academic support, and digital learning tools. This program bridges that gap by offering a safe, community-based learning hub where children can read, study, receive mentorship, and develop critical thinking skills.

Why This Program Matters

Education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty. However, children from low income households often struggle with:

  • Limited access to learning materials.
  • Poor reading culture and low literacy levels.
  • Lack of academic support outside school.
  • Exposure to negative street influences after school hours.

The Community Library creates a protective and empowering space that keeps children engaged in learning, builds confidence, and improves school retention.
